BIO
Tranquility Beach are a duo from Hertfordshire, UK. Fusing powerful soul vocals with overdriven guitar and percussion, the band is bringing an exciting new sound to the blues and roots scene. The band’s influences include John Butler Trio, Ben Harper, Xavier Rudd, Bon Iver and Angus Stone.
Friends Molly & Ben began their songwriting journey in 2021 and are working towards the release of their first album, which they're creating in their makeshift home studio. The songs are being mixed and mastered by producer Al Scott, who has worked with the likes of David Gray and the Clash's Joe Strummer.
As well as gigging in and around London, they have opened the show at a small UK festival (Legends Festival) to an audience of several thousand for 2 years running. In 2021, Molly’s writing and vocal style has also gained her recognition on BBC Introducing with a solo project.
Latest Release
Tranquility Beach's second single — Poor Little Rich Girl — is set to release 25th August '23.
Poor Little Rich Girl takes you through the streets of 1960s New York, with a smoky, energetic atmosphere that's driven by the song's guitars and percussion. The track would be in good company with the soundtracks for TV series such as Peaky Blinders, or Killing Eve given its raw and nostalgic "femme fatale" feel. The song's simultaneously haunting and seductive female vocals make the track irresistible. The feel of the vocals and the lyrics intimately reflect the story of the song's subject: troubled 1960s "it" girl Edie Sedgwick, who was a close partner and muse of Andy Warhol. Poor Little Rich Girl is set for release on 25th August 2023.
